FlareKit is a fully open-source, all-in-one cloud file management SaaS platform built on top of Cloudflare's modern serverless infrastructure.
What is FlareKit?
FlareKit enables you to securely store, organize, and share files and folders in the cloud. It provides a powerful RESTful API and a beautiful web interface for both developers and teams. You can use FlareKit as a backend for your own apps, as a standalone SaaS, or as a foundation for building new cloud-native products.

Cloudflare Products Used
FlareKit is designed to run on Cloudflare's global edge network and makes use of several Cloudflare products:
- Cloudflare Workers: Serverless JavaScript/TypeScript runtime for backend logic and API endpoints
- Cloudflare D1: Serverless SQL database for persistent storage
- Cloudflare Queues: Distributed message queue for background jobs and async processing
- Cloudflare R2 (optional): Object storage for large file uploads (if enabled in your deployment)
- Cloudflare KV (optional): Key-value storage for caching or metadata (if enabled)
Note: Not all features require R2, KV, or Queues, but you can enable them for advanced use cases.
Cloudflare Billing & Requirements
- Cloudflare Account: You must have a Cloudflare account to deploy FlareKit in production.
- Paid Plan & Credit Card: Some Cloudflare products (such as D1, R2, and Queues) may require you to add a credit card and enable a paid plan, even for development or testing. Please check Cloudflare's pricing and product documentation for details.
- API Tokens: You will need to generate and configure your Cloudflare API token and account ID in
wrangler.jsonc
before deploying. - Limits: Be aware of Cloudflare Workers, D1, R2, and Queues limits and quotas.
